1. How to add a hole in a terrain?

  1. Draw a curve (it must be closed) within the terrain limits, in the 0 elevation, as shown in Fig 1. (Use the _Circle or the _Curve Curve or the _Polyline command Polyline .
  2. Run the Terrain: Add Hole command (_laTerrainAddHole laTerrainAddHole ).
  3. Pick the curve to define the area of the hole.

The terrain will be flatten over the area of the selected curve according to its elevation.


2. Edit or remove the hole

After the hole as been inserted in the terrain, you can remove it from the Terrain Edit Panel laEditPanel and Properties dialog, under the Input data tab, after selecting the terrain.

You can also control whether the control points PointsOn of the hole boundary are shown or not when turning the terrain control points on.

Enable the Terrain Control points to change the position, elevation or limits of the hole area. A Move control arrow lets you move the whole hole area at once.
